URA Event: Art Jamming @ Marina
An URA event which I participated back in Year 1 of my Polytechnic days. it was the first event that i participated in, which allowed me to learn more about the design process as there was a full process of the organizers looking at our design proposals, and accepting/ rejecting them.

Overall, it was an interesting experience which allowed me to have fun designing and painting onto the cubes.
Inspirations for the design of the cube
Geometrical Shapes of different colour
we used different geometrical shapes together, to show that even with different shape they can still work together, symbolizing racial harmony.
HDB Flats around Singapore
The main highilght of singapore now, where liing starts to go upwards. we wanted to use the tall HDB to show people living together in harmony.
The Boat of Sang Nila Utama
The start of singapore, we used this to share the story of how singapore first began, and how singapore is a island surrounded by water.
Gardens by the Bay
Lastly, a tourist attraction that everyone would want to visit, the Supertrees.
Cubes lining up with one another
shows the final product, with the cubes lined up beside each other. we were tasked with designing 3 small cubes, with one bigger cube which we used to show our concept on.
Timeline of project
we had only about a week to finish the project, where we had to finish painting 4 cubes, with only 3 people in my group.
Cube Design
The smaller cubes are painted with geometrical shapes, in different colours, to help show that even with different shapes and colours it is still possible to live in harmony.
Design of the Big Cube
On one of the faces, we showed the kinds of living in Singapore, from small landed properties to large HDBs that we have in Singapore.
Design of Big Cube
The Boat signifies the arrival of Sang Nila Utama, which was on a boat. the different colours in the background is to describe the sky, and the ocean.
Design of Big Cube
the other side of the cube showed People coloured in black, and also the gardens by the bay. this helps to show harmony and cohesiveness, celebrating the joys in Singapore.
