The Trapezoid

This is my first project going into my course, where we had to design for a group of students coming to Ngee Ann. the space is mainly used as a rest stop, allowing students to purchase snacks, rest and interact, as well as play computer games with the consoles upstairs.

 

I did a trapezoidal form, to allow for more sheltered open spaces, pushing out the level 2 so that the students upstairs will get a better view of the outside. the 1st floor also has a pavement going through the building, so that people are able to walk by the space, without having to go around it. This helps to attract more people to come to the building, to take a break from studying.

Overall, through this project i was able to test my drawing skills, by drawing out perspectives as well as floor plans. It was not easy, considering i did not draw anything in awhile, but it was a way to tell myself that i can improve from this.
